You think women only make clothes for females? Think again as we look over the top three designers who are well known for creating menswear
Miuccia Prada
Alongside with her carrer as a creative director of Miu Miu, she is the co-chief executive and co-creative director of Prada, which was founded by her grandfather in 1913. She joined the brand in 1978 and released her first menswear clothing line in 1995, which was praised amongst critics for its expertly cut tailoring, dreamy wool and nylon outerwear along with excellently angular footwear.
Sarah Burton
Sarah took the difficult task of continuing the brand as her colleague Lee Alexander McQueen died in 2010. Fortunately, she succeeded by making some changes of its aesthetic whilst remaining true to the late namesake designer's iconoclastic codes. Her success resulted in receiving a coveted order from the British empire due to her services in the fashion industry as well as winning awards from designer of the year, the walpole award and the CFDA international award.
Donatella Versace
Donatella Versace has held the position of artistic director and vice president of her company Versace in 1997 after her brother Gianni's death. By continung her brothers legacy it resulted her in winning the GQ designer of the year award for her designs being described mostly as energetic, youthful and desirable by GQ's grooming director Teo van den Broeke, which are filled with logo heavy denim, brocade shirts and slick tailoring .
